37 Cabinets. Four Weeks to Build.
How Litus compressed a project initially estimated at 10 weeks into a four-week production schedule, absorbing a late design change without giving up any testing.

37 cabinets, four weeks
Every one powered and checked before it shipped.
The challenge
A ten-week estimate, four weeks to deliver.
An urgent Cedar Springs project required Litus to complete 37 NEMA 3R camera power cabinets in four weeks. Each one steps power down from the turbine to feed the site cameras. The original estimate had been approximately 10 weeks.
The enclosure supply chain alone was an immediate challenge. Typical hardware lead times on a project of this scale could consume four to six weeks before production even began, and Litus would still need to execute nearly 500 production labor hours inside the compressed schedule.
The approach
Supply chain first, then production in parallel.
- Compressed the supply chain first: Saginaw Control & Engineering delivered enclosures in nine working days
- Designed & fabricated back panels locally in about five days, in parallel with enclosure production
- Mapped the build to run in parallel instead of waiting for every component to arrive
- Added two production staff on repeatable tasks, keeping senior technicians on complex work
- Absorbed a mid-production design change (a GFCI receptacle added to every cabinet) without losing the schedule
- Ran a powered FAT / checkout process on every cabinet before shipment
The result
All 37 cabinets built inside the four-week window.
All 37 cabinets were completed within the four-week production window, with the full project delivered on schedule after the additional shipping week. The result was a project schedule preserved when the conventional supply chain couldn’t support it.
Speed comes from process
The schedule was achieved by restructuring sourcing and production, not by skipping steps.
Agility after the PO
The design change was incorporated under revision control without re-planning the build.
A focused operation scales
37 assemblies and ~500 labor hours show the ability to scale when the schedule requires it.
Testing still matters
Every cabinet was powered and checked before shipment.
